Description/Bio: This collaborative workshop has been developed to train staff and parents about the state and federal requirements of transition from early intervention (EI) to early childhood special education services (ECSE). This training will assist EI and school districts in meeting the obligations of Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) to provide a smooth and effective transition for children and their families from EI to school district services. Topics such as evaluation and eligibility; transition meetings and responsibilities; timelines; best practice recommendations; and state forms will be discussed.

This training will provide 5.0 hours for the following:

  • CPDUs (Continuing Professional Development Units) for teacher certification
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) #3 & #4
  • CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
  • EI Credit for Early Intervention professionals in the area of Families

Full attendance is required to receive a certificate of participation.
