Description/Bio: PREREQUISITE TRAINING: INTRODUCTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM PRESCHOOL
4TH EDITION (two-day training). REGISTRATIONS FROM THOSE WHO HAVE NOT ATTENDED THE PREREQUISITE WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED.
This workshop replaces The Creative Curriculum's Developmental Continuum Assessment System.
This workshop will provide discussion and exploration of the components of the assessment system: observation, documentation, portfolio
building, and reporting. There will also be discussion and exploration of the implementation of the GOLD assessment system to assess
children's progress. Participants will learn to set up practical systems for observing children and documenting progress and how to plan for
individual children, small groups, and the whole class using the information gathered. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring the GOLD
kit with them to the workshop.
Janis P. Jones , M.ED. is a professional development advisor and early childhood consultant. She provides technical assistance and support to
early childhood programs including the professional development of teachers, career advising, workforce development issues and program
design and management. Janis has been a classroom teacher, supervisor,
program
director, project coordinator, and trainer. She has worked
extensively with programs including Head Start, State Pre-K, and private child care. She is a training consultant for Teaching Strategies Inc.
(Creative Curriculum) and also works as an independent ECE consultant. In this role, Janis specializes in the area of program administration
and management. She works extensively with program directors and administrators as a consultant, mentor, coach, and trainer. Janis received
her Master's Degree and Infant/ Toddler certification from Erikson Institute.
This training will provide 12.0 hours for the following:
- CPDUs (Continuing Professional Development Units) for teacher certification
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) #2, #3, #7, & #8
- CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
Full attendance is required to receive a certificate of participation.
