Description: From Concepts to Numbers..It's Super Math! The STARNET Region I & III team is excited to offer another Summer Camp experience at the lovely Villa Maria Retreat & Conference Center on Lake Springfield! This year's focus is MATH! We are excited to have Dr. Jennifer McCray from Erikson Institute as our keynote speaker. Prepare to get energized with new strategies for using math throughout your curriculum. There are many activities and sessions planned for this twoday event. Tuesday, July 22nd The Villa is available for those wishing to come in Tuesday evening. You will have on opportunity to play some games, watch a movie, or just relax with friends. Wednesday, July 23rd and Thursday, July 24th, a full schedule of keynote, breakout, and make-and-take sessions are planned. Wednesday evening prepare to have a blast with fun activities offered throughout the evening. Food: Only those staying over Tuesday night will be provided breakfast on Wednesday morning. All registrants will be provided with lunch and dinner (optional) on Wednesday and breakfast and lunch on Thursday. When registering, please indicate if you will be joining us for the evening activities and dinner (cookout) on Wednesday so that we can plan accordingly. Presenter Bios: Jennifer McCray earned both her master's and doctorate degrees at Erikson Institute. A former preschool teacher, she has taught pre- and in-service preschool and elementary teachers for the past eight years. In addition to directing the Early Math Collaborative, Jennifer conducts research on preschool teaching and learning. Her dissertation, which focused on preschool teachers' understanding of mathematics, recently won two national awards.

Continuing Education - This training will provide 11.5 contact hours for the following:

  • CPDUs (Continuing Professional Development Units) for teacher certification
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 2
  • CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
  • Gateways to Opportunity credit in area(s) A
Full attendance is required to receive a certificate.
